AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINAL PAINTING BY BARNEY DANIELS TJUNGARRAYI (C.1954 – C.1998)
Title: Untitled
Size: Approx 83cm x 61cm
Medium: Acrylic on canvas
Year: c.1995
Although untitled, the painting celebrates the successful hunt for snakes and lizards, captured after the country was burnt to flush the animals from their hiding places. The burnt country is represented by the stipple effect, the trademark of Barney’s paintings. The ceremony area is shown as concentric circles.
He has works displayed in galleries and private collections throughout the world, including the Longbeach Museum, California.
A fine example of one of Barney’s works which are well sort after and are becoming highly collectable.
